About Us

Formed in 2025 • Based in London, UK
This project has long been an ambition for all our members, but when multi-instrumentalist Cam Forrester began producing Velvets–related content on YouTube in 2021 and subsequently built a strong following, real demand for a live show was evident, given the scarcity of footage of the original band.
After posting an online ad in 2022, multi-instrumentalist Kyle Hill joined on bass; guitarist Bobby Tamarali followed in December 2024 and drummer Ella Wallace-Manning in February 2025, completing the core lineup.
Throughout 2025 we’ve self-funded rehearsals, investing thousands in vintage instruments, amps, and lighting, and even hand-building discontinued equipment.
“We’re working on both accurately reproducing the Velvets’ seminal music, and recreating the groundbreaking multimedia shows they performed during their collaboration with Andy Warhol during 1966-1967.
Our goal is to recreate these culturally significant events for a modern audience - especially those who never experienced this pioneering moment in art and music history firsthand.
Since rock and roll no longer dominates the cultural landscape as it did in the 1960s, we aim to invite people of all ages and backgrounds - musicians, students, creatives, long-time fans and curious newcomers alike - to rediscover the excitement of an almost entirely analogue multimedia event.
The light shows will consist of manually controlled strobes (operated in rhythm with the music), as well as coloured spot lamps, aimed at our custom-built reproduction of Warhol’s antique mirror ball (as used in the original EPI events), to create orbiting polka dot reflections all around the space.
Additionally, a liquid light show will produce psychedelic convection current visuals against the stage wall, alongside slide/moiré projections, and the sole digital element of the show, which is new Another VU film projections (replacing the original 16mm Warhol films of the Velvets).
The result will be a mesmerising explosion of electrifying sound and kaleidoscopic imagery - just like the original, and now legendary EPI.

So far we have been financing everything ourselves; getting a project like this off the ground is a costly process.
We’ve already spent thousands of pounds/dollars in equipment and rehearsals.
To succeed in this endeavour, we need support and backing, so any contributions towards us making this vision a reality are greatly appreciated.” - Cam Forrester
