“BRINGS BACK A LOT OF MEMORIES!”

- MAUREEN TUCKER

“YOU HAVE THE SOUND OF THE VELVET UNDERGROUND DOWN!”

- MARTHA MORRISON

A decade before punk - before the world was ready - there was The Velvet Underground.

They didn’t play it safe. They shattered conventions, creating raw, confrontational art that redefined rock & roll and influenced generations of artists.

Another VU have meticulously recreated every element of the Velvets dangerous, seductive sound, while capturing the spontaneity and intensity that made their live performances so unforgettable.

Their tribute production immerses audiences in the environment of both their Exploding Plastic Inevitable events with Andy Warhol in 1966 and their independent concerts from 1967-1970.

Celebrating 60 years since the birth of the Exploding Plastic Inevitable, audiences are plunged into a kaleidoscope of orbiting colour reflections, liquid light projections, flashing xenon strobes, and evocative film imagery - all colliding with the Velvets’ hypnotic, timeless music.

Come and blow your mind - experience the euphoria, and dance as if you’ve landed back at The Dom in 1966, or the Boston Tea Party in 1969.

AUDIENCE TESTIMONIALS:

“I saw you at Bush Hall and thought it, quite frankly, astonishing.

That was not imitation, it was recreation of the highest order. I saw the Velvets reunion in Wembley (1993), and honestly I think I enjoyed your gig more. For a start, they did not play Sister Ray.

Yours was was the young Velvets of my imagination made real, and like some guy shouted out in the gig, a hell of a lot of fun.”

“The band has a great sound and drive. Ella on drums is a very powerful engine.

There’s no point in describing it any further, this needs to be experienced live.”

“To be able to represent the Velvet Underground as you did is one hell of an achievement.”

“Stunning! To feel that primal drum beat pounding while you were deep into Sister Ray was like a fever dream!

I Heard Her Call My Name was another mind melt. You guys nailed it. Can’t wait to see you all play again.”

“It was a dream to actually hear this music played this way. One thing that really struck me was how much of it was designed to dance to. Those drums being the key to the whole sound.”

“I’ve never listened to The Velvet Underground, despite being a big fan of Punk, but consider me a fan. I’m definitely going to go home and listen to lots of their stuff while I’m studying over the next few weeks.”

“We’re all seriously blown away. Thank you.”
